Soar to new heights at the Museum of Flight! This Museum follows the journey of aviation throughout history. If we look at the achievements of our past, we can soar to even greater heights in the future. Our team was challenged to bring a new look to this historic location. We decided to pay homage to this rich history of aviation while using modern styles to add a cleaner look and to bring new audiences in.
Process
As a group, we decided to create a main concept and brainstorm style choices based on it. We then came together and discussed stronger choices compared to others, and started to develop layouts and designs.
Our first style choices referenced scrapbooks, retro colors, and historical imagery.
After sessions of feedback and reconsideration of our concept, we landed on using negative space to our advantage and utilizing a black and white theme to tie in the historical imagery. After these decisions, we created guidelines to solidify these choices and allow them to absorb our branding. .
