Process

Fashion and Gender studies are a huge part of who I am so when it came to picking out my senior capstone, I knew exactly what to focus on. Sketching was a HUGE part of this process, as I created all the outfits (thrifted, sewn, and glued), made a custom word mark, and managed models.

After sketching, styling the clothes was the next step, as I needed these pieces to photograph and use in my layouts. After many trips to the thrift store, and figuring out how to alter clothes, and I achieved the look I was going for.

Next was hand-lettering the word mark and logo. There was a fair amount of trial and error in this process, which led me to work on this part for the entirety of our semester.

While testing my options, my mentor was a huge help when it came to decisions and feedback. With this feedback, I was able to get a direction in style, which led me to the scanned and cut-out look. I tried to use physical items that relate to the office scene and scan them into my work.
