Special Collections

Special Collections

In collaberation with the Evanisko project, "a grant funded initiative showcasing thought-provoking and vibrant student works in the Libraries", our group decided to highlight the library's special collections. This collection is a way for students to hold history in their hands while learning about the impact of that history. We decided to target students wanting to make history, giving them a lens to look back on those who have already accomplished it. Creating that connection with the past can inspire those who plan to impact the world in positive ways. A bold, impactful, and inspiring campaign is what we focused on in our design.

Process

For this project, we did a lot of research on our audience, that being students who want to make a difference in the world. We thought targeting this audience felt right as the students in the library are studying and preparing for their bright future. We wanted to bring more people into the special topics to help show the importance of learning from history!

Our group conducted site studies and research to gain a deeper understanding of the alumni we selected for our project. We were fortunate enough to look through the archives of these amazing history makers' work. Chip Kidd actually commented on one of our posts, which was insane to us!

As we finished this project, our team was fortunate enough to showcase our work at the Palmer Museum at a donor's event!
